home church
The heartbeat of Harvest City Church is Home Church. While each one of our Home Churches has their own character, they all follow the similar structure based off of our Home Church Guides. Nothing establishes a community faster than gathering around a table, breaking bread and sharing a meal. Spiritually, nothing deepens a community more than letting Scripture govern and speak into each and every person's life, walk and relationship with Jesus.
Worship night
The life of a Home Church community is rooted in the expression of worship. Making a joyful noise to the Lord in prayer confessing, praising, lamenting, thanking, interceding, and etc. is a beautiful when done alongside brothers and sisters in Christ.
shabbat
Harvest City Church encourages all people and families to celebrate a sabbath each week, intentionally taking time rest from the business of the world and rest into His presence. As Jesus broke bread with friends and family leading into His sabbath rest, we do to, following the Way of Jesus.
Passover Seder Meal
The Passover Seder Meal is a tradition celebrated by Jewish people for millennia. The Passover celebrates the time when Yahweh led his people out of slavery in Egypt. The Egyptian pharaoh let the people go after the angel of death killed every firstborn in Egypt but “passed over” the Israelite homes with lamb’s blood on their doorposts. But we are not Jewish, we are Christians. We celebrate the Passover Seder Meal every year on the day before Good Friday because we believe Yeshua the Messiah was the ultimate Passover lamb who shed His blood so that all who believe in Him are freed from the slavery of sin and death. Even if you do not replicate all the things, it is definitely worth your time to gather with friends and family and read it together sometime during Holy Week.
multiplying a home church?
We want the gospel of Jesus to reach every house and person in the Greater Augusta area, which means Home Churches will be multiplying! If you are a Home Church Leader and are launching a new Home Church, we expect you to continue to meet weekly with the new Home Church leader you just sent out. Here is a our Leadership Discipleship guide for mentoring Home Church leaders. Do not forget to intentionally go Into the Harvest together once out of every four meetups.
